Annual Meetings

For more than 17 years Scandinavian Cardiothoracic researchers have built up a strong tradition by coming to Geilo for the SSRCTS meeting. The balance between scientific activity and social interaction, which is a characteristic feature of these meetings, have led to many professional and personal friendships. I hope all the faithful contributors to the success of the previous meetings will continue their great efforts with the same enthusiasm, so we can jointly continue our solidification of this very important Scandinavian research society.

Once again, the Norlandia Geilo Hotel will provide the frames for the meeting.
Accommodation (hotel room, all meals, one beer or one glass of wine to the dinner) will be unchanged NOK 1150 per day in single room, NOK 1000 per day in double room. Accompanying person (spouse or extra participant) in the same room NOK 740 per day. Hotel booking must be made directly with Geilo Hotel – some rooms have already been reserved for SSRCTS participants.

There is no congress fee for the participants, but in order to ensure sufficient conference material it has become necessary to establish a registration procedure. From the registration a list of participants will be produced.

Every Society needs reformation. SSRCTS is no exception. J. Michael Hasenkam has now been president for 8 years and needs cerebral support. Therefore, Mari-Liss Kaljusto, Ullevaal University Hospital, Oslo, Norway has volunteered to take over some of the organizational activities and boost the society with new initiatives.

I hope both young researchers and senior colleagues will continue the fruitful tradition by coming to Geilo for the 18^thAnnual Meeting. Senior Cardiothoracic researchers will get a good feeling of research at the Scandinvian level and they are important participant during discussion. You often get surprised of the qualified feed-back during sessions!!
