SSRCTS is a daughter society of Scandinavian Association of Thoracic Surgery (SATS). The purpose of SSRCTS is to exchange knowledge about on-going cardiothoracic research in the Scandinavian countries. The annual meeting being held in Geilo, Norway is an ideal scene for young researchers to present their research achievements. At the same time senior clinicians/researchers have a unique opportunity to be informed about ongoing research in Scandinavian cardiothoracic centers and provide relevant critique to their younger colleagues.

The intimacy of a small meeting in the heart of Norway in the peak skiing season is the ideal environment for indepth discussions between young researchers and their mentors in the cardiothoracic research field. It also gives perfect opportunities for professional/personal aquaintances in cardiothoracic surgery and related specialities.
