- 3rd Prize: S.C. Stoica. Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, United kingdom for his presentation: Immunohistochemical analysis of endothelial cell activation in right and left ventricles of transplanted human hearts

- 3rd Prize: Christopher Wigfield. Dept. of Cardiothoracic Surgery, University of Newcastle and Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom for his presentation: “Ameliorated reperfudion injury in lung transplantation after reduction of brain death induced inflammatory graft damage in the donor”
On the 13th Annual Meeting 2003 the Presenters awards were given to:

- 2nd Prize: Peter Johansen. Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Institute of Experimental Clinical Research, Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby Sygehus, Denmark for his presentation: “In vivo quantification of mechanical heart valve noise”
- 3rd Prize: Mathias Perthel. Bad Bevensen, Germany for his presentation: “Impact of orientation of the Medtronic Hall tilting disk mitral prosthesis on intraventricular flow patterns using cardiac-MRI”
